Where are all the good men….

Seems there is a lot of chatter lately in the media on the lack of interest men have in getting married and reasons for the sharp decline in men wishing to get married.

The reasons why men are boycotting marriage are many and varied.

Dr. Helen Smith outlines the main causes for the reluctance of men interested in marriage as well as anyone.  Her book, Men on Strike, Why Men are Boycotting Marriage, Fatherhood, and the American Dream, is an excellent read for anyone interested in the topic.

Of course not all men are relegated to the garage, or man cave in what was once considered their home, and not all men are carrying floral diaper bags at the mall.

But the fact remains, more men are not only questioning  getting married, they no longer see the benefits of marriage.

Dr. Smith concludes in her study that a lack of respect for men, deference, and loss of male leadership has serious and adverse societal consequences.

It will be interesting to see how it will all play out in our near future.

All you have to do is look straight and see the road, and when you see it, don’t sit looking at it – walk. There are two sides to every issue: one side is right and the other is wrong, but the middle is always evil.

plus — they can pretty get all the benefits of marriage without the commitment.

  2. Well I am sure it has to do with the pressure that some women put on men to marry due to biological clocks ticking away. Desperation smells like crap, no matter what sex wears it.
